the latest.....

Here are a few pictures of the dogs I've taken recently. I swear Im not pathetic and live for my dogs. I just have some cute pictures of them!!

Madison DETERMINED to find 1 of 23 tennis balls in her toy basket.

We have lift off. I wish I had video so you can see how she catches this in her mouth. HILARIOUS!!

I snuck in and found this!

Lexington after Libby the Groomer gave her a haircut. I was a little more specific this time ... MUCH better results!!!

Ok ENOUGH of the dog talk! I have pictures from the past two weekends of showers for Abby and I actually tried uploading them, but for some reason they are TINY so I'll work on getting bigger pictures! I'm in pure bridesmaid mode right now until the end of June. I'm not complaining though...its a great way to see my friends a lot more than I usually do.

Ketchup and Mustard

Its
been a while, so I figured I will play catch up!

The trip to Texas last week was hectic and stressful. Mom and I spent the first night in a not so desirable hotel because the South by Southwest festival in downtown Austin had hotels packed. Sunday, we spent mostly in the car driving around looking at apartments and getting a feel for the city. Of course, we found the mall and did a little shopping. Then we checked into The Driskell Hotel, which has to be the nicest place I have ever stayed! Its worth making a trip to because it is absolutely breathtaking how beautiful it is! If I lived in Texas, I would want a wedding reception there!! I actually ended up not taking the job, but I fell in love with the city. So who knows, I may find myself there one day.
(This is a view of our hotel room. Oh so romantic........with my mom. But it was still gorgeous)

Saturday, we had the engagement dinner for Abby and David at our house and it was a huge success! It was so nice to see people I haven't seen in years and of course, being with my best friends was a treat!! We are surrounded by weddings right now. Our family seems to have nothing else to talk about, so we've made a rule that at dinner, NO WEDDING TALK! It will be strange after these two weddings are over. What are we going to talk about??

Easter was nice, but low key. Hey, I'm not complaining. Holidays can always be so stressful for our family so it was nice to take it easy and enjoy the day.

FINALLY!!

YAY!!!! Its finally Springtime!!! I love spring weather more than any other time of the year and today has be absolutely perfect. ALL winter long, the dogs have stood at the door begging to go play outside but its been rainy and cold most of the time. Even with their cute little sweaters, I don't want to risk them getting sick. Lexie's little 4 1/2 pound body is not very resistant so playing outside hasn't been an option for a while. Im spending the afternoon on the porch catching up on some school work while they play. I've got a lot to get done before Friday. Mom and I are leaving Saturday morning for Austin, TX and are staying through Wednesday. I have a job interview out there, so we are just making a vacation out of it! My last Spring Break...ever! I'm starting to get really nervous because in the next week, I am going to have to make a MAJOR decision as far as which job to take. It sounds easy, but I have a lot of things to consider with each option. Please keep me in your prayers!!
This next week is going to be a lot of fun. For starters, I get a little vacation (despite having to do some interviewing) and then when we get back, we're throwing a party for Abby and David! Hopefully Dad can keep the house looking nice while we are gone, otherwise we are going to have some SERIOUS work waiting on us!

MADISON WAS BUTCHERED!!

Ok well she wasn't butchered, but the new groomer must have a serious sense of humor. I came home to this poor little terrier who had lost her beard and mane (which were what made her so adorable). She was embarassed and even tried hiding her face. Poor thing!! I now call her the swordfish because her nose is sooooo long.

I hadn't taken pictures of the girls recently, so I went ahead and did a mini photo shoot. Here's Lexington saying, "I need a haircut, but NOT what my sassy got!!!"

In other news, please keep the family of Lauren Burk in your prayers. She was a freshman at Auburn University who was shot and died last night. Details on who shot her and why haven't been released yet, so the campus is a little nervous right now. Just another reminder how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away! Don't forget to tell the people you love how much you care about them. Sometimes we don't get second chances!

Out of curiosity, when are the new episodes of Gossip Girl returning? SERIOUSLY, this writers's strike had a very irritating effect.

One more thing, does anyone know how to get different fonts for blogs? Im operating on the basic layouts blogger provides and Im getting rather bored with it.

A Little Trip Down Memory Lane...

WHEW!!!! I'm FINALLY done with midterms so I now have a little more freetime on my hands to do some things I've neglected the past 3 weeks.

For starters, I deperately need to visit my gearles. Its long overdue to have a weekend with the gearles and sit around and joke about the silly things and make future plans for lifestyles filled with manicures, lunches and sitting by the pool with our margaritas while all our kids play together and the husbands are grilling out talking about guy stuff!!

This picture is one of my ALL TIME FAVS!! It was taken 3 or 4 years ago at our friend Katie's house at her Thanksgiving dinner party...OH COLLEGE DAYS!! We were so fortunate to all live together in such an amazing house with our dogs we adore (Hampton, Abby's Chihuahua and Madison my YorkiePoo)

This is Hampton and Madison Abby and Me with the dogs

We would sit on our back porch for hours all the time...in fact we even had heaters outside and we would sit with blankets even in the cold. The dogs always did this, barking at passerby's. The lab is Buck, Abby's fiance's dog, affectionately known as Uncle Buck!!

AHHH beloved Spark!! Some of my best memories are here!!!

******************

Ok enough of the trip down memory lane! I got a little nostalgic for a while there! I do miss Abby and Mary Kate. You never truly appreciate your best friends until you rarely get the chance to see each other. Then you have to do things like this, and look back at all the good times you shared!!

Weekend Recap

I spent this weekend with my sister, Sarah doing the girly things sisters do....shopping, movies, gossip, etc. We went to Atlanta looking for jeans for Sarah (which is not an easy task for anyone) and an outfit that is supposed to double as a office appropriate and engagement dinner outfit...again not an easy task. I'm trying to slowly start my professional wardrobe. I worked in a boutique 3 1/2 years so my closet is jam packed with outfits to wear out at night and on the weekend. Unfortunately FreePeople and French Connection doesn't really make too many sweater sets or trousers. I'm coming to grips with the fact that I am no longer 21 and that I need to start dressing more for my age. UGH...i LOVE sundresses and designer jeans!!! Looks like my days of button-ups and sweater sets are quickly on their way. I will say that Banana Republic makes an amazing effort at making chic office-wear. Check them out if you want to avoid the flight attendant look!!!

Saturday night we saw The Other Boleyn Girl and despite its bad reviews, I LOVED it!! Apparantly, the movie ripped the book to shreds (which is on the top of my pile of books to read), but I thought the story was incredible. I am so ADD that halfway through a movie, I am ready to leave, but this one kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time!! I think Sarah kept getting annoyed with my random questions (yes I am that girl) but it was good quality time for us!

On this week's agenda:
finish midterms ....for the last time...EVER!!!
work on a presentation for an interview
enjoy this AMAZING spring weather!!
