Mr. Needy is one of my customers. I've had a few ask who he is and sorry to say, hes just a pretty boy who happens to be a client.
He's ridiculously needy and needs his ego stroked about 10 times a day.
I like giving out code names...
K back to work! yeh right

Now on my THIRD phone in 4 months, all the same model - just replacements for the duds before, I've been pushed to the limits.
Last night, I was feeling great. Got the workout in (with one of the new shirts), was a little bit tanner, and things were going great for me in life in general.
My sweet little blackberry decides that she's angry with me because I won't let her rest. Mid VERY important conversation with someone :) , she freezes. You know the type of freeze on the computer where you hit control-alt-delete 15 times and then start hitting the mouse on the desk?? Yeh, that's where we were.
I was IRATE!
How could you let me down during a very very important conversation. A crappy phone screw up could mess things up BIG time with this. ( More on this in the future :) )
Fortunately, she was only upset with me for a few hours because she's working beautifully now. Mr. Needy has already called three times. UGH! Maybe it would have been nice for the sweet little blackberry to have died after all.

I woke up at 2 am PETRIFIED that I had left my purse at work. Now, to most people this doesn't sound like a big deal, but at the time it was for me. We've had issues with theft after hours (we have to lock our laptops at night), so imagine the thoughts going through my head.
I was convinced that the 12 hours my purse sat unattended at my desk that I would have my identity stolen, and ruin my whole life. YEH I know, it sounds ridiculous now but at the time it was VERY real to me. So, fortunately I had my credit card statement and was able to call and cancel it along with my debit card.
NO sleep that night because I'm thinking to myself, "You are such an idiot, your SSN card is in there, have a good time living in the projects for the rest of your life."
OK fortunately, the cards were canceled with NO purchases on there that I didn't make so I was a little relieved about that.
And here's the funny part. I walked to my car the next morning (yes, of course 10 min late), and what do you think is sitting in the back seat. YES MAM...my sweet little HOBO was sitting there starring at me saying, "Hey Stupid, I've been here all night."
Well, I was without ANY form of payment except check (which is basically as good as a cassette tape these days) for all this time until today.
Very smart, to go out with $300 cash in your wallet. Smart Rachel...very smart.
You can imagine how thrilled I was when I got home to see a BIG envelope from Wachovia.
Let's just say I put that little beauty to work today after work.
1st Stop: Dick's Sporting Goods
$150 on workout shirts...no shorts...just shirts....I know, Im not too proud of this
2nd Stop: Dillards
Marc Jacobs Sunglasses....ok I've been needing sunglasses desperately because all mine are scratched or broken and Im in the car all day, I dont want a squinting wrinkle. I figure if I buy a NICE pair, I won't lose or mess them up....heres to hoping!!
3rd Stop: Palm Beach Tan
Guess who was the idiot who signed up for monthly tanning package that is drafted from my checking account. Well, at least I'll be tan.
Glad you're back debby, because I missed you.

You know, I don't know how we ever functioned without these little GPS beauties. Maps?? No thanks, I've got a sweet British woman who likes to tell me where to go and at times YELL at me because I made a wrong turn. Im not upset I won't be hearing "RECALCULATING!!" for a while! I get so irritated with that lady. She only wants to yell at me when I'm mid conversation with someone. I think I almost threw her out the window a few times, but she gained my trust back when I arrived at the exact house I was going to.
Something that I had forgotten I had was my old outdated ipod. I got it for my 21st birthday from my boyfriend at the time and I thouht it was the coolest thing ever. Poor thing doesn't get too much attention now (sorry Blake). Its in my console for when I go to the gym and I never never never use it because, honestly, my itunes leaves a lot to be desired. I usually listen to the radio or a cd, but I figured I would bring this little one out for pure entertainment and see what OLD songs I have on there.
I came to the realization VERY QUICKLY that its time I invest in some new music. Problem is, I don't have the time to sort through istore and find new bands. BUT, I went to Target tonight and bought one of these little gems.

ANYWAY- I was OBSESSED! I used the Prada bag for a while there and it came in so much handy the two times I went to Europe.
I was on Saks' website today and they had this picture of their fall Prada items being showcased. You know, I appreciate designer items for their quality and design, but I'm practical. Im not paying over 150 for a pair of heels or more than 300 for a purse. UMMMMMMMMM if I was raking in the big money, I may have to change my tune though. Because............
"HELLO LOVA!" (Carrie, SATC)
I mean, really.
Thanks a lot Prada.
I'm quickly starting to miss my boutique days where a 50% discount meant, new wardrobe every season.
These are AMAZING!
This sucker is what did me in. I'm drooling!
This little peach has been on my wish list for about a year. I saw it in the prettiest merlot color last fall and it was love at first sight.
While on the Prada theme, I just want to make a little comment. I'm pretty sure I work with a wannabe Miranda Priestley.
"Ok, hmm....tomorrow, I'll walk in and throw my coat on my assistant's desk and later demand she go to the coke machine and bring me a coke to put in my super sized McDonald's cup"
from now on, he will be referred to as Miranda :)

The past few days have been so stressful and draining. I'm learning lessons in real world issues right now. Work has been the most amazing teacher I've ever had! I've laughed, I've cried, I've gained confidence in myself, I've lost that confidence and wondered what in the world am I doing with my life, I've made friends, I've lost friends. I've learned what I really want in life, whats important and what is not. I've put to action everything I've been raised with. I've been asked to do things I know are wrong. I've been asked to do things I know aren't wrong, but don't want to do. Its been what Kelly Clarkson calls a Beautiful Disaster (ONLY cheesy moment for today! )
Like I said, this week has taken so much out of me. I've been so stressed out with issues at my job, that I havent been able to sleep, eat, talk, function. The tension kept building and building until my moment of realization this morning. I realized its time I stop accepting what I'm being told and handle my issues without letting someone take care of them.
Something I truly have struggled with since I can remember is confrontation. I HATE it!! I will defend myself when confronted and have no problem doing it. But, starting the confrontation...not gonna do it. Sadly, I've lost a few friends because of this weakness. But with the help of my new friend CeCe, I've gained the confidence to face the HUGE problem I had head on. No more relying on someone else to fix the problem. And after a 2 hr meeting with the problem, I now feel such a feeling of accomplishment. I stared my fear straight in the eye and just flat out conquered it. Now everything is mended and feelings are sparred.
All it took was encouragement from a good friend to show me I have it in me. Thats all it took. Someone to show me that I have the strength to overcome something that has controlled me sooo many years. I'm truly grateful for this!!
I don't by any means think I've solved all of life's mysteries, but I do know this...I've grown up so much these past few months. Life has a new meaning to me. I've been LIBERATED (ahahahaha Im sorry thats for you Lisa King!!).
Another fun post will follow this, I just wanted to put a little heart felt post in there at some point so you can see I'm not as shallow as it looks!

There was a Christmas Break that my sister and I watched this at least once a day for 2 weeks straight.
Yet another of my therapy movies. I've watched it OVER AND OVER so many times!!
You've Got Mail
I actually always used this one as a background to when I had to study. Im wierd, I know.
Under the Tuscan Sun
Such an encouraging movie.
The Devil Wears Prada
As cliche as it is to put this on my list, I'm a girly girl and this movie is basically like taking ecstasy for me!! HAHA
Jude Law....thats all I'm sayin
Two Weeks Notice
love love love it!!
You know what I can't stand?
I can't stand watching movies adapted to be on TV. At least, the movies I've watched repeatedly and know when things have been edited out.
I'm really bad about finding a movie I love and watching it OVER and OVER and OVER. I remember in high school, my therapy movie was Legally Blonde. For whatever reason, my mom tapped into this right off the bat. Whenever I had a bad day or was upset about something, a Blockbuster copy of Legally Blonde would appear in my room. After a few (more like 20) times of renting this movie, I received it as a gift for Christmas. And STILL to this day, I can watch this movie and quote it start to end.
So when TBS decides to show it, and they leave out scenes, not only do I know it and get perterbed, it messes the movie up for me.
Prime example. My ALLTIME favorite movie (although may soon be replaced or in a run off with The Holiday) is Stepmom. When its on TBS they edit out crucial scenes like when the mother (Susan Sarandon) is waiting on Isabell (Julia Roberts) to bring the kids home from a party. It's fall and shes sitting out in her yard surrounded by all the leaves and you can almost feel how cold it is. Right before they drive up, she's shown smoking a joint because she's dying of cancer. OF COURSE TBS cuts this scene and understandably so, but the thing is, this is the whole turning point of the movie. When Isabell starts to show that she not only wants to be the Stepmother, but actually loves the children as her own and their mother has to come to grips with it. Its amazing and it gets the boot. Thats my rant for the day.
But while I'm talking about movies, I thought I'd list my favorites. The list could go on and on, but these are the ones I've watched 10+ times.
What are your favorites?

In the latest copy of Domino magazine (August 2008), there is a short but sweet story about a woman who needed help getting her closet organized. She had lost sight at what to wear, what she had and what she needed. After White-Starr Aesthetic Consulting came in and performed an intervention with her, putting outfits together was no longer a chore, but now a joy.
The Consulting Firm explained to her the necessity of going through her closet and trying EVERYTHING on. I'll be the first to admit that I am a clothes collector. Throwing anything out of my closet is very difficult to me because I have that thought in the back of my head that many women have, "I may need this one day." The truth is, after working 3.5 years in a boutique, I collected quite a bit. I became obsessed with wardrobe basics. I have every color tank tops and I stopped counting my white tanks at 10. All my clothes are mostly solids because its so much easier to mix and match this way. But the truth is, I only wear about 25% of whats in my closet now. Partly because A LOT of my clothes are weekend wear and not office appropriate. But there is still a large amount that still have tags (2 years later) or haven't been worn for numerous reasons.
I can't quite part with all of this yet because I really enjoy looking into my closet. Its a vanity issue, but still. I keep it super organized...everything has an exact place. Ask my sister. She's tried to sneak a few things to borrow and was immediately busted when she tried to put them back without being caught. I'm obnoxious about my closet, but its mine and its how I function best.
ENOUGH about me...
Here are some pictures of celebrity closets I can only DREAM for!!!
She has quite the shoe collection!!
Speaking of SHOES!!
And the Mecca of all closets, only to be competed with by Kimmora Simmons, Mariah Carey's closet.
We've all seen the episode of cribs.

SO, without further ado....a little recap of my interesting day at work for you!
I HATE four-legged fridays (2 people in a territory making calls together). I hate them for numerous reasons, one being they are wastes of time because we're always sent to other territories. NO THANKS! I don't want to bust it for someone else because I know they aren't doing it for me.
Today was "Four legged Friday" (yes its a stupid name). I told my boss I wasn't feeling it and would jump off a cliff if I got stuck with a certain someone. Fortunately, I got paired with my boss but I knew there was a catch. Guess where we were off to for the morning??
GHETTO MONTGOMERY ALABAMA!!
And when I say ghetto, I mean shacks for houses, clothes drying on bushes covered with kudzu, people sitting on porches (when they should be at work), no air conditioner in ANY building, lines for soup kitchen, keep my phone on speed dial to 911 at all times in my hand GHETTO.
Oh Rich, he thought he would teach me a nice little lesson about being so outspoken about how stupid Four Legged Friday is. He drove and I wish there was a camera with us to document the whole experience.
First Stop: Salvation Army.
HEY homeless people everywhere! It smelled beyond rancid in there. When the program director met us, I almost laughed because I was greeted by a 400lb woman with a wig and she had on PANTS and a thick JACKET! MAM???!?!?! I know I'm being mean, but still.
Moving on to H&H Bait Shop.
Sad thing is I'm not making this up. Sign on the door read "Anyone carrying a bag will be asked to leave immediately. If that wasn't enough of a sign, the bars on all windows might have helped. PS there was a HUGE cooler full of crickets....no cover...they're just hangin out...hoppping around. "Here's my business card....you know what, nevermind."
Next Stop: Montgomery Boxing Club
This one did me in. We walked into a "gym" with 98 degree heat. And it smelled like a rotting armpit. Rich asked me to join him next Monday at 6:30 pm to follow up on the call. My response, "You're right."
we done yet rich? NOPE
Moving onto the Waggon Wheel Cafe.
yes you read correctly. I was greeted by Stacy...stacy had a few teeth missing.
Next Stop: Bad Boys Garage
I wish I were kidding. I have no comments for this except this will not be running.
You ready?: Dewan's Fish Fry
And so, when asked to rank these 1-10 on liklihood of new accounts, I not only laughed, I got creative.
Like I've said before, I'm learning a lot about life.
Next step: punch Rich in the face. HAHA just kidding...it kept me away from the enemy!!
But through the months, I've become quite addicted to this new world. Its a part of my daily routine. I read different blogs for all kinds of topics. Anything from celebrity gossip, decorating blogs, single-life blogs....you name it, I'm reading it.
If only I could get more people on board.
I've used facebook to keep up with all my friends because we've all gone our separate ways. But honestly, this is getting old. All facebook does is keep me in the college mindset because for some reason, everyone feels the need to post pictures of all their wild nights. Or they use it to post wedding pictures, etc. Either way, Im getting tired of it. I like blogs a lot better because its a much better way to know what all is going on in the day-to-day life of my friends.
All that said, I'm just waiting on all yall who are reading this, but don't have a blog yet to get on board. Its fun!!!

One time, I had to do a 5 hour glucose test where you have blood drawn every hour so basically I was trapped in a lab waiting room. My sister, Sarah, was quite the trooper and stuck it out with me the whole time. I don't handle needles well...I'm a kicker (yes I've kicked a nurse before and she was warned). We brought along a portable DVD player and watched a whole season of this show. One of my favorite memories of us, believe it or not!
Ask Mary Kate. Any time I come to Birmingham, this is the FIRST STOP!
Working in the corporate world will do it to you and this is the best place to buy clothes to be professional and stay stylish.
I don't care if you don't like small old houses. Buy this magazine. Anyone who is into home decor will benefit from this one!
Buy a subscription...money well spent
Lavendar roses are my absolute favorite.
If you know me at all, you know this.
To any man: show up with carnations and expect a door in your face
Ahh the Restoration Hardware bed.
Layers and layers of sleep time goodness.
But to enjoy all of it, you have to see it in person and feel how soft the sheets and duvets are!

Down Comforter, Air on 70, Fan on High...AMAZING!!
P.S. I'm still dreaming of the full ensemble Restoration Hardware has!
smells that makes every stress melt away!
The Kabuki Brush...aka the miracle worker!
I swear by Oil of Olay Complete! I used to torture my skin in the sun and one day realized I had to stop! ANY time my face has water on it, this will follow! I've used it for years! Im really bad about brand hopping, but this one is a keeper...I've never strayed.
The MOST AMAZING product for us girls with unruly, curly, frizzy hair. I bought this 3 years ago and am only 1/2 way through it. I took this to the beach on a girls' weekend and had everyone converted!
Surprisingly, my mom found this one for me. If you've ever seen my perfume collection (20+), you know I love love love perfume, but I'm extremely picky! I hate anything citrusy or floral. This has a musky scent to it and I can't get enough of it.
When I worked at Behind the Glass, this was our best seller. We literally couldn't keep it on the shelves. It truly is the most amazing scent. (Voluspa - Saijo Persimmon)
Yes, I know. The crackberry. But I really don't know how I survived with the P.O.S. I had before this. PLUS...I have t-mobile my favs...my phone bill thanks me every month for this!
ANYONE who works in sales, knows that a calendar is a non negotiable necessity. It doesn't leave my presence! I love Moleskine's calendar because it is so simple and easy to find things in.
I cannot imagine not having this. Period.
Madison and Lexington love this one! Actually, if we are going on a walk, they obviously both get a leash, but if its just the yard, Madison has free range while baby Lex stays on a leash.
It was stupid. I know. But sometimes its good to think about things you love. And just so you know, there are a ton of other things that didn't make this cut simply out of consideration for all of yall who will read this and say, "Yeh thanks for nothing." Don't worry though, the others will be making appearances soon. I've got a feeling the crap stick and I will be fast friends!

BUT........................... I can't imagine the next 40 years in this type of atmosphere. Eventually I want to be my own boss. Im dreaming of the picture below.
