First and foremost, a little apology for the disastrous changes I tried to make to spice up the old blog. I've been trying to figure out how to make the body of these posts wider. I've done everything from trying to fix the HTML code to buying this waste of money...
It really isn't a waste if you're new to blogging, but I've been at this for almost 2 years now, so I've got down the basics. Good thing I saved the receipt, because this is going back on Books A Million's shelves today.


Anyway, the point of this is I need help. For all you bloggers out there, PLEASE lend me your suggestions.

Its game day today. And no I'm not talking about my Tigers. I'm talking about how (**hopefully) Bama will get their tails handed to them on a platter today. So in pure Auburn spirit, we're cheering for the Gators today. Hudson has on his "I eat elephants" shirt and said he's hungry!!

I've been playing Martha around here and decorating for Christmas with Bravo TV in the background. Hey some people like Christmas tunes, I like Real Housewives reruns to get me going!!

I showed you guys the TERRIBLE before (scroll down) and now here's the after. I'm quite pleased. I had to get incredibly creative and hunt for things around the house.

And now if only it would snow...

Its Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...

I've had every intention on decorating for Christmas this year. I'll be honest. I've been lazy.

All this time, I've had an idea for how to keep the smell of a real tree without actually buying a tree. And yesterday, when I went to Target, I found a few solutions.

I'm by no means finished. In fact, that's my roject for the day. To make things merry and bright in here!!

Normally, I'm not a fan of poinsettas, but this arrangement (thank you target) was one I couldn't pass up. It now sits on my coffee table and will probably stay there after Christmas (just with a replacement for the poinsetta).
And Little Man couldn't resist the camera nor the sofa cushions. He's a bat out of down under 98% of the time. Very destructive. Thank you Hudson.

The Challenge is still on...

Back off, you know it was planned.


I do this every time. I decide that now is the time to take on the challenge of growing out long locks because I'm young and now is when I can get away with it. I don't think any woman over 40 should have hair past her shoulders. Thats just me.

The problem is, I usually just have a breakdown and give up and go for the short do. I like it for a week or so, and then I see a picture of mine with long hair and a big Kip from Napolean Dynamite's "DANGIT" just pops out of my mouth uncontrollably.

Well I'm on the right track so far. I've been priding myself in the fact that scissors have not touched my hair all year except for the semi-routine split ends trim. But the itch had started to come back to cut.

All until I saw these...

I snapped out of it oh so very quickly and remembered the goal. i'm about half way there, so I should hope that this time next year my side poney should be just as incredible!!

Looking Bright...

I'm not one to just go overboard with bright colors. I like neutrals for my home with maybe a splash of color here and there. I wear mostly black, white and cream colored clothes and add in some spice with jewelry. But every now and then, I get this urge to just be ridiculous and go overboard and just be bright.


I wish I had pictures from my first 2 apartments in college. I really don't know of a better adjective to describe these monstrosities besides the word, WHOA!! My first apartment, I had my Grandmomma make me pillows that were cute at the time. They were hot pink and bright green with black ball trim. I thought they were pretty much awesome until my neighbors (who became my best friends in the world) moved in and their apartment was WAY better than mine. With their color scheme of black white and red, I thought to myself, "WHAT was I thinking?" We now laugh at both of these apartments because we've all outgrown our style at 20 years old. Now we all have grown up to a certain degree and our homes have too.


The best part about it is reminiscing about "the good ole days" and 99 % of the time we just laugh and laugh and laugh when we do. You guys would too if you saw my hand painted "LIVE LAUGH LOVE" signs hanging from ribbon above the TV. Or my all white furniture in my bedroom with Pink and Purple and Green pillows with the Eiffle Tower on them.


HOWEVER. I do think that these colors can be used appropriately every now and then. They may never show back up in my home again (sorry future kids...your rooms will not be over the top!!), but I do like to look at pretty pictures of how other people have been bold and took the plunge.

The 20 year old me would have stopped DEAD in my tracks and just fallen in love with this!! White Furniture, color everywhere, fashion books...I would have died.

But now, I still love that painting. I'ld die to have that!!

And this one couldn't be left out either. Again, the painting, I'ld take today. And I love this daybed/sofa. I'ld opt for more subtle fabric choices, but the bones of it is great!!

SO the moral of this story is, take the time to look at your past mistakes, whether it was a Fashion Police DON'T or a college apartment WHOA. Its worth a laugh at least!!

Rain Rain DONT Go Away...

I don't know how the weather is in "your neck of the woods" (best phrase ever Al), but its been raining non stop for the past 24 hours. Normally, I'ld be pretty annoyed by this point, but I can't say that I am.

Why?

Because the past 2 nights I have had the most perfect sleep ever. There really is nothing that can compare to the sound of rain in a comfy bed all curled up under lots of soft layers.

Because the temperature is just right, the windows have stayed open and the AC and Heat have stayed off. My power bill is going to be SWEET!!

The only problem is, its almost impossible to get up and moving in the morning. It probably doesn't help that I called it a day at 8:30 last night either. Getting back in the swing of working after a week off isn't exactly easy. And when my phone rang at 7:45 last night and my boss asked me if I could come meet her at the office to lock the door because she lost her key, I realized, the vacay is OVER!!

So, I called it a day when I got home and got off the phone with the boss. We're a very talkative group. We like to analyze EVERY single detail and this doesn't stop at 5 pm. Ever.

Suffice it to say, I didn't watch The Hills or The City finales. Which put a damper on my Blackberry messenger date with a co-worker (We like to make comments to each other while the show airs. Its our thing. Lay off). Good thing MTV has it posted.

So here's to hoping tonight will be another in bed by 9 type of night and the sweet sound of rain will NOT go away!!

I've had some sappy posts recently and we all know that I like to normally keep things light around here. So, tonight, as I sit and listen to the rain (AGAIN) and the new album I just bought on itunes, I'll share with you the little beauty things I'm totally into right now.

Ok, where to start? Besides that fact that she's genetically the most blessed woman ALIVE, I will just break down the things I'm lusting over.

A. Penelope's hair is my DREAM. Perfect color. Perfect cute. Perfect Perfect Perfect.

B. The red lips. I've been on the hunt for the perfect shade of red. This is NOT an easy task to say the least. If anyone has any suggestions, I'ld love to hear them. Keep in mind that red lipstick is the most unforgiving shade. What works on one skin tone doesn't work on another.

I love dark nail polish. Ever since I grew out my nails (HUGE accomplishment....took me 25 years to do), I've become quite experimental with different shades. TOTALLY loving this dark green!!

Ahhhh the smell of dove soap. There really is nothing better. Just keep a bar in your shower and your bathroom will smell absolutely perfect. AND its by far the greatest soap you will ever find. There's lots of expensive options out there, but I'ld be confident to bet that it works better than all those $$$$ brands.

So ladies, I love products. LOVE them. In my files for my pictures is a file devoted only to products. I'm not ashamed. They make me happy.
