Catch Up...

I'm really surprised by the lack of hate emails over the fact that I haven't blogged in over two weeks. Please do forgive me. I have VERY limited internet access these days {currently I'm sitting in quite the posh condo business center playing some MAJOR catch up!}.

So, I'll be brief and try to catch things up to speed.

Let me see. Work. Is AWESOME!!! I was just completely overwhelmed by the warm southern welcome I received from LOTS of my fellow co-workers. I dove right in and put my event planning skills to work {although I had to make some adjustments...National Sales Meetings don't function exactly the same way that a fundraiser does}. I'm still finding myself trying to break free of the non-profit habits I have. When I got the assignment to coordinate the National Sales Meeting for all of our Sales Department, immediately, the wheels in my head started spinning. I asked, "what is our budget??" And I was SHOCKED when I heard, "budget?
Nothing less than 4 stars." "Ummmm I'm not sure how I'm going to get that donated!!" OH wait!! There is NO need for that! Anyway, the meeting has come and gone and went off without a hitch. Loved every stinking second of it.

Life Outside of Work. I've officially been a resident of Atlanta for one week today. The movers showed up with a HUGE truck full of my things. We worked for about 7 hours moving everything and I spent all weekend in what looked like a war zone. Fortunately, by Sunday night, I actually had put everything away and now it looks like someone lives here! I LOVE my new place. If I could find my nice camera, I would take pictures and post, but that is like finding a needle in a haystack. One piece at a time right now.

We're going to have to put up with my photo-less posts for just a while until I can get internet in my house. Moving is astronomically expensive, so I'm just going to have to save my pennies for about 2 weeks. LOVE IT.

I've missed you blog world...never to abandon you!!!

Camp Grandparents...

To My Sweet Puppies:

I know you think your sweet mom has completely lost her mind. First quitting her job. Then wisking you back to Florida for two days to put all our things in LOTS of boxes. Then jetting off to a new city for a new job, all the while you're at Camp Grandparents {which happens to be the most luxurious camp around}.

So you're wondering what the french is going on right now. And rightfully so. But just trust your crazy mom because she's found you an AWESOME new home complete with a top notch back yard to run free in...

A home without carpet so it doesn't smell like wet dog...
And the nicest of amenities that will make mom very very happy which makes your life even more enjoyable...
Enjoy camp, bubbies, because very soon all the craziness will be over and we'll be all settled in. And we'll be gracing all the fun parks that Atlanta has to offer. Your next door neighbors are adorable West Highland Terriers and Bulldogs. And the fun Zoey is just across the street. Its going to be fun...lots of fun!!

Love,

Your Crazy Mom

**No, I'm not already moved in. Give me a break, I was offered the job Monday and started work TODAY, so needless to say, I have NOT had time to move in. Rome wasnt built in a day. But once its all put together, you can bet I'll have pictures up!! This is, however, my exact place!!

Fix You...

Just two weeks ago today, this is how I felt.

"When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth"
Coldplay

And I started feeling this really strong calling to call it quits with my love affair aka my job at MDA. It made absolutely no sense. I mean, WHO quits a job they love without anything lined up? Seriously.

But I just kept trusting in a very faithful Father whose commands made no sense, but were guaranteed to be perfect. He has graciously kept me calm cool and collected all this time. And if you know me, THAT is a miracle in itself. I haven't worried one time. I've used the past week to...get this...relax. I know...a foreign idea to us go getters.

Well. The promise was a good one. Because in just two days, I'll be living here...

That's correct. I'm moving to my lifelong dream city...Atlanta. Things are crazy now. I've got A LOT to do in VERY little time. But, again, if you know me...this just gets me going!! Oh I love a challenge in a time crunch!! So, send your prayers my way...I'll need them!

A little sidenote: thankyou to all of you for your sweet words of encouragement throughout this past month. I'm forever endebted to each of you! God is so incredibly good. He's been working in me this past year and I'm just thrilled to see where He's taking me from here. All credit to Him. This was not my doing one bit!

A four Letter word...

If you were to walk into my living room at this moment, this is EXACTLY what you would see...

And literally, that is ALL you would see. Friday night, Mom and I drove the 3.5 hour trip back to FL to pack up my place. She was gracious enough to continue packing while I was at the salon getting my hair touched up. I came back with lunch in hand and I did not even recognize where I was. Probably all the boxes piled high on each other. We worked all day and then treated ourselves to ice cream from Marble Slab {P.S. try the blackberry concoction they have...TO DIE FOR!!}.

We're back now and I am exhausted. A HUGE thank you to sweet Carol for the help. We hate moving and she's helped me with each move {and there's been A LOT of those!!}. Here's to hoing there's only one more for a while!

Spencer Morgan Designs...

Maybe I should just blog for a living? Because it sure is a lot more fun than the corporate world.

ANYWAY...

This morning I stumbled across an amazing jewelry designer's website. Spencer Morgan Designs have me going crazy. And the best part? She will custom design pieces for you. Send her in a piece of jewelry that you want updated and voila, you have an updated masterpiece around your neck. And if that doesn't have you wanting to email her RIGHT NOW for purchases, check out how reasonable her pieces are.

Go ahead. Indulge yourself and still have money left over to have a drink or two with girlfriends.

Comfy Chic...

I've traded in my work attire for something a little more comfortable and practical. But who says that not working can't be cute? Want to see what it looks like in my neck of the woods?

Ok, let me just start by saying that I am NOT in the market to be spending bookoodles of money right now. In fact, its all going towards non fun things like taking the dogs to the vet {can't wait for that half a paycheck to disappear} and moving. BUT... yesterday, I popped into old faithful, I mean Old Navy and challenged myself to find something and walk out spending less than $20. That's not too big of a challenge considering their great deals, but you have to understand that I am every marketing team's DREAM. I see deals and start piling them up. And suddenly I'm spending A LOT. So yesterday, I had to restrain myself. HOWEVER, I found these incredibly comfy and cute shorts for get this...$7!! No lie. I'm pretty sure that this comfy outfit I'm sporting today will be my summer staple.
And P.S. I stumbled across two INCREDIBLE website to satisfy your fashion urges that I will be posting about soon. That sweet little necklace is from one of them, so stay tuned!

lusting...

Does anyone know how expensive it is to move? I'm not even going to get into the acutal move part, but just stick to the basics: bubble wrap and wrapping paper. A big fat $30 bucks! What the french toast??

So there goes my fun budget. That's only the beginning of the financial disaster. So to escape the reality of my bank account, I'll feast my eyes on these things. Just add these to my ongoing list.

I was in Ulta today and I've been WAITING on the Summer Hair line from Fekkai to come out. Last year, I bought the Summer waves product and I'm getting down to just a few drops And that's only because I've been rationing it out like no other. So, my heart skipped a beat when I saw the seasonal line is BACK. Oh wait, there are a few other products in the line. Help. Me. Rhonda. So, I think that my next product to add to the collection shall be this one. When you have thick, wavy hair and live in the humid south, you have no choice but to find some hardcore products to wrangle the frizz.

I don't know about you, but I am very quickly falling in love with the Greek key phenomenon. And when I stumbled across this lamp from Wisteria, I just went crazy!!
And this one set me over the edge.

And when I saw this, I just immediately imagined a console table in a foyer with this in front of a grey/blue/black wall.

And one more train you need to jump on is the up and coming Madewell train. It is delicious. I was in Lennox the other day and breezed by their store. If I had more time, I would have literally tried on ARMFULLS of clothes, because I'm simply in love with their designs.
***
And that, my friends, is what I'm lusting over right now. But until I figure out whatever it is that I'm supposed to be doing, settle into a new place and get back on track, I'll continue to dream...

To The List...

Holy WHOA.

I want/need/HAVE to have this.

Check out Lindsey Brooke.

jumpstart...

I figured that I would have a lot of spare time on my hands without working. And while I have a lot more than usual, I'm not just sitting around like a kid on break from school. I stayed productive yesterday and ran into several old friends! All this to say, I havent been able to focus on the big project at hand. HOWEVER, today is the day. To jump start the creativity, I've put together a few of my favorite pictures...

The french connection...

Today I took a quick trip to Atlanta to get this job hunt kicked into high gear. Everything went great, so fingers crossed this girl will be EMPLOYED in no time {save the comments...I know its the craziest thing to do: quit a job without another lined up. But trust me, leaps of faith are crazy like that. But their payoffs are always worth it!}.

Anyway, I met my friend for lunch at Lennox Grille and when I was walking back throught the mall to get to my car, I stopped dead in my tracks while breezing past French Connection. This unexplainable magnetic forced DRUG me in there. I'm not kidding. Their clothes this spring are TO DIE FOR!!

Wait, why haven't I see these until now? Oh yeh, probably because I've been living under a rock for 1.5 years. Well ladies, those days are O-V-E-R!! So prepare yourself for a few of my favorites that I would love to see hanging in a new closet!!

looks rather matronly in pictures, but in person, it will just bring a huge smile to your face... a PERFECT way to show off your pilates sculpted legs!!
Check out the back of this dress...

And this one...
