Barely awake...

Its been a long day on the road. I cruised 98 for work and was greeted by the most incredibly sunny beautiful weather along the way. There's just something so peaceful about seeing the beach in weather as perfect as this! But 400 miles and 12 hours of work later, this girl is beyond exhausted!!

So, all I can think of is gathering all things relaxing and indulging myself. The most obvious is to find anything with this scent...

Ahhhh lavendar, you get me every time!! If I could infuse the scent of lavendar into my bedroom vents, I'ld do it in a heartbeat {is this possible???}.

And then once I'm surrounded by all things that are feel good, I'll start to resemble something like this...
Good night fellow bloggers!!

By the way, I am beyond ecstatic to start seeing new bloggers post comments!! So keep them coming my way. It really makes my day!!

Brighten Up...

I really don't enjoy this time of year simply for the fact that I am OVER winter!! I'm ready for spring to get here. Ready for bright colors everywhere. Ready to comfortably wear my new spring outfits without either shivering or getting weird looks. Until then, I'll just browse my never ending collection of photos and really focus on the ones that are full of color!!

A little pick me up...

Good morning blog world!! Once again, the forecast has changed {just as soon as I bragged about Florida weather} and its not warm enough to wear spring clothes. I know I know...its only January, but I'm SICK of wearing winter dull items. Unfortunately, all my springy dresses and flirty tops are just going to have to sit tight today. In the mean time, it looks like an all black dress outfit complete with boots and over the top jewelry. One of these could really do the trick!!

And a big thank you to Megan for all the great coffee table finds. She is always so good about sending me links to things I'm looking for. And her blog is absolutely hilarious!! I love feedback, so I'll keep asking for this until you guys actually step up to the plate:). All of you quiet "stalkers" out there, I'ld love to hear from you!!

Thank you Mr. Weatherman! And most importantly, thank you to our Almighty Creator who knows how to just put a smile on my face!

Tonight when I was talking to my Dad he said, "How's the Floridian doing?"

I quickly responded with, "Please don't refer to me as that."

I guess I'm not okay with being a Floridian. I'm an Alabama girl at heart {No NOT the "school"}. Things are different here. Nobody waves in traffic when you let them over. Nobody says Please/Thank You/Have a Good Day. In fact, everytime I do, I get weird looks. There are no Historical Home Districts. The Churches are not beautiful {maybe one or two qualify as attractive}. You can never go down the main roads without seeing AT LEAST 5 cyclists and runners. Milos Sweet Tea is NOT sold in Grocery Stores here. Tailgaiting is exactly that {sittin on the tailgait of a truck and drink a beer...oh and if you're me, roll your eyes in disgust at all the girls walking around in cut off jean skirts and cut off jerseys. Don't they know what a game day dress is??}. There are NO home decor boutiques. The list goes on and on. And guys, I live in Northwest Florida. I can only imagine how terrible it gets the further south you go!

I do miss the "South." I miss so much about it, mostly all the people I love who live there. But I am grateful that it isn't too far away {only 3.5 hrs}. And Florida isn't too bad. A few perks of where I live.
-Did you read our forecast above??? Weather here is just fabulous 85% of the time.
-I'm less than an hour from the coast. And an easy 2 hours from Destin. Need I say more??
-There are many days that I "work" in Destin. Even the most stressful of days instantly get better when I see the water.
-The over abundance of FRESH seafood
-People instantly notice I am NOT Florida bred...and they LIKE it!!
-Canopy roads are everywhere. Live Oak Trees are beyond incredible and when they're on both sides of the road...pure Heaven
-Only 25 minutes from the most picturesque, friendly small southern town EVER...Thomasville, GA.

I guess there isn't too much to complain about.

My table...

Ok blogging buddies, I need your help!! I hope some of you are up for the challenge! I am in desperate need of a new coffee table. The one I have now is from Ikea and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the design of it, but in true Ikea fashion, it isn't the best quality. It has rocked whenever touched since the day I got it. But I've always had plenty of other things to spend money on, so I've never gotten around to having it replaced.

I absolutely love the simple design of it and just wish there was a way to reinforce it so that it didn't rock every time I put my glass on it, much less brushed up against it. At one point, there was talk about having it welded, but to be honest with you, I'ld much rather just get a replacement rather than forking over $100 to have a poorly constructed table "fixed."

So I'm on the hunt for a replacement. I have to stick to my ongoing theme of life {VERY budget}. I'm thinking no more than $250. I know, I'm not giving you much to work with, but there has to be someone savvy out there who can take on this challenge!!

What am I looking for? I'm up for several styles, but there are a few requirements. I do want a spacious table top to house magazines, books and a potted plant. It needs to be rectangular. I don't want a solid wood table. I like the look of different textures. It is nice to have a glass top, but not required.

Below are some ideas of what I like.

I mean this would just be a dream come true! Another blogger gave several of these away in a contest a few weeks ago. I wanted to enter the contest, but it would have required me to submit pictures that hundreds of people would vote on. And my budget house doesn't measure up to the other designer homes listed.

BUT I LOVE this look!!

I really like the metal against the glass. It looks old but not in that Shabby Chic way. I'm not into the distressed look these days.

You'll have to look hard, but the table in this living room is almost perfect!
I like the glass top because you can see the rug underneath...which is one of the reasons I like the one I have now. Because you can see the rug beneath.

But if I can't have a glass top, this one would come in 2nd place for perfection.
Very simple lines.
{not quite a fan of the feet though...I like very clean lines}
Squint hard again.
Here's another simple design.

I know this isn't a coffee table, but the base is great!! This is what I'm looking for somewhat.

I'm not opposed to the idea of two smaller tables side by side like the picture above.

Here's my dream table again!!

I know you guys are out there. I find someone new everyday who is following this, so please speak up!! If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I'm not opposed to the idea of putting a little elbow grease into a "previously loved" table. Basically I want something sturdy, so if it takes a little work to get it back to the point of aesthetically pleasing, I'm ok with it.
