Puppy Love...

I had it all planned out.

Tonight I had a date with my DVR. I had lots of TV to catch up with. I was half way through one show, when I heard a big knock on the door. I was tempted to ignore it, but something said to ignore it. So I opened the door and I soon found this bundle of fun...

{please excuse the bad quality...it was taken on my phone}

But please meet our new neighbor friend, Sophie. Isn't she just a ball of furry deliciousness? I had to share. Although there are two residents in my house who weren't as thrilled...

Although little man did find Sophie to be quite intriguing. Let's just say, he's a romancer.

And all Maddie girl could do was look at me with that classic, "Just don't bring her home with us" look. Bless little Bubbie's heart. She's raised two little yorkies and is D.O.N.E. playing surrogate momma/big sister. She said she is completely fine with just little Tinky Winky {Lexington} and Lemon {Hudson} being the tag alongs.

Sick day finds...

I've been feeling under the weather the past few days. So when I woke up swimming in tissues with my ribs hurting so bad from coughing the past few days, I decided to stop fighting it and took the day off. I do believe that was my first sick day in over a year {sidenote: I just really appreciate working for a company that is 100% okay with me taking the day off and NOT work while downing Chicken noodle soup and bathing in Vicks Vapor Rub every 20 minutes}.

Anyway, the majority of the day was spent sleeping on the sofa, but in the small bits of time I was awake, I did a little internet browsing. Jenna's picks from J.Crew were emailed to me, so of course my interest was sparked. The shoes. Oh the shoes. If they weren't $300 a pop, I would sweep them all up immediately.

Am I crazy? I REALLY like these moccasins. They're lined with shearling and would be perfect for a cold Sunday afternoon trip to the grocery.
The zipper in the back...Perfection.
Where do I even begin with these?? So perfect!!!

Recent additions...

I had several hours on a plane last weekend to study some fashion mags and very quickly realized I needed to do some MAJOR updating in the wardrobe department. I don't know if its the creative outlet that Atlanta is so well known for or if my style has changed, but I'm finding myself not really liking the traditional Banana Republic look anymore. I like individuality.

Here are a few pieces I've added {more to come whenever I get them photographed}.

I saw this necklace on someone's blog and fell head over heels for it. Even though its hanging on top of another necklace, you can still see how fun it is. And YES, I do layer it. Because too much is sometimes a good thing.
This top from Zara is just perfect. It is literally one of those pieces you can take from work to night in a snap.
I've been drooling over these pants for quite some time. You've probably seen all the celebrity sporting the $300 JBrand version of these in all the gossip mags. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE JBrand. I have a pair of skinny jeans from them and they are worth every penny. I only regret not buying the flair leg pair back in my Behind the Glass days. Anyway, they make a pair of skinny cargos JUST like these but the price tag is just ridic. So when Sassy and I went into Anthropologie a few weeks ago, I just wanted to see what the hype was about. I actually found a more reasonably priced pair. When I tried them on, I melted. They are by far the most comfy pants I've ever worn and believe it or not, VERY flattering. So, I thought it over for a while {because they are rather trendy and I have a rule about not spending too much on trendy items} and decided to make them mine.
I absolutely cannot wait to wear this top over some dark skinnies and booties!!
I have a pair of cowboy boots waiting to be worn with this!
Call me Kelly Kapowski, but I'm a sucker for a comfy oversized shirt that naturally falls off the shoulder. I LOVE it!!

Perfect Couple...

Okay. I'm FINALLY going to take the plunge. I've been talking about it for probably a year now. But since funding has been allowed, I'm actually going to stop dreaming about it and make it a reality.

The truth is, my coffee table is on its last leg. Literally. Its one round of chase from the pupsters and this table will be kapootz.I love its design and functionality, but it is way past time.

So this morning, I put in a request to my favorite design on a dime buddy, Sara, to send me options. I've had an idea what I want for quite some time. I DO NOT want the classic dark wood coffee table. So when she sent me this, I just about melted...

And added bonus, I will FINALLY be purchasing this gem as well.
Don't they make such a perfect couple?? I sure think they do!!

Now, off to magazine heaven land!

Going green...

Colorado was great. Just what I needed.

Here are a few more things I definitely have needed for a while and don't know how I've made do without...

Enter the plastic- looks like a to go cup but oh so re-usable- tall cup. Not to be confused with the tervis tumbler {which hold a very special place in my heart}, this bad boy is the perfect solution to my iced coffee spills as I walk in the office every morning. Or in reality, the solution to nixxing my sweet tea addiction. Instead of a large glass of milos, I'm swapping over to iced coffee. Not really a healthier move?? At least there will be less sugar intake. And I will look super cool with my attempt at going green.
And then for this winter when I can actually drink hot coffee without sweating, this bad boy will do the trick.
Stalkers, head over to Bed Bath and Beyond. For under $20, these two pieces of awesome can be yours. And you know you'll feel good about going green. I know I do.

All packed...

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go...

See this guy...

Yes, you read correctly. I'm hopping on a plane in just a few hours and heading out to go visit that cutie patootie. I've gotten several reports from co-workers who have just returned from Colorado that I am going to LOVE the weather right now. I'm not sure how much nicer it can be than it is here, but they all swear its fab. The camera is packed {along with LOTS of fun fall clothes...that I somehow managed to fit in one carry on suitcase...other bag is full of work fun} and I hope to bring back LOTS of fun pictures and stories to share.

The only thing that would make this day even better would be if I could take this little one along...

She loves her daddy more than anything in the world. He would FLIP OUT if I popped off the plane with this little lady {and of course Hudson, but especially Madison}. Not this time. They're in great hands with their Aunt Sar at college.

If there was a pile...

This morning I whipped out the Uggs.

Let me just go ahead and say that you can save your comments. I don't need them one bit. I believe I've blogged several times about this. I love them. They aren't going anywhere. Literally. They'll stay in my house and that is it.

Anyway, that crisp breeze this morning just jump started me in a huge way to wanting to just throw out EVERY SINGLE piece of summer clothes and welcome everything fall into my way too small closet.

Let me back up for just a smidge. Last Saturday, Sassy and I decided to work off our delicious Greek lunches and take a fun powerwalk/window browsing trip to Lenox Mall. We went into several stores that left me in tears. Why oh why must I be on a budget? WHY!?!? And the one store that REALLY left this effect on me is Zara.

Maybe it was the actual color palette for their fall 2010 collection that drew me in or the major equestrian theme, I'm not sure. Whatever it was, I literally forced myself to leave.

Here are a few of my favorites...

My mom tells a really funny {yet sadly true} story about me when I was a little girl. I took horseback riding lessons for a few years. Truth be known, I really just wanted the outfit, helmet and boots. But I really did actually enjoy my stubborn "horse" Charlie. Let's just say that my instructor must not have seen potential in me. That or she saw straight through my motives and noticed how much I kept staring at all the pretty boots and helmets. Either way, she stuck me on the most stupid horse alive. He would poop every two seconds. But I didn't care. It gave me more time to imagine myself as this gorgeous hamptons girl riding her six figure horse in a perfect outfit. {You guys think I'm exaggerating. Most seven year olds don't do this...but I did} Anyway, the funny story comes in here. While I was doing all this daydreaming, I must not have been watching where I stepped. As my mother likes to put it, if there was a steamer pile within 5 miles, I would find it and step in it. Who cared though? I was seven years old with twigs for legs and spandex pants looked baggy on me. YEH YUH.
SOOOOOO....when I came across a table of riding pants in Zara, I literally fell in love. There is a pair of olive riding pants that WILL make their way into my closet. Ladies, think of them like leggings. Please cover the tush. NOBODY wants to see that. NOBODY.

You guys probably think I'm a nutso, but when I saw this, I had to hand sassy my purse so that I could try it on. It felt like butter. So soft and comfy. I LOVED THIS!!!!

the Little things...

Usually a trip to Anthropologie means walking straight to the clothes section. And while their clothes are incredible, there are so many other things there that are just so much fun. I was browsin the homes section last Saturday with my sister and came across so many things that I want now.

I need these in my bathroom. Bad.
LOVE these coasters. And because I am a FIRM believer in the concept that you can never have enough coasters.
SANTA?? Yes??

I have a mild obsession for little trinket vases like this. I have them scattered all throughout the house and they always have jewelry in them.
This dishtowel is actually what sparked this whole post. My friend Meg is OBSESSED with bulldogs and when I saw this, I took a picture and sent it to her immediately. She later told me that she ordered 2 right then and there.

How cute is this??

Oh. Em. Gee. These drawer pulls are just pure perfection
This door knocker is exactly what I want. No joke.
